White Squall II was designed and built by Morts ship and dockyard, Sydney Australia in 1936. She is a custom daysail schooner, reputedly built for a Greek Princess. She was commissioned by the Navy in WWII as a Minesweeper to this day evidence of her wartime duties can still be seen on deck amongst many other historic features.
Built of Carvel construction using Australian hardwood a painstaking maintenance schedule has allowed her to remain the only ship of her type to actively operate in these modern times.
After circumnavigating the globe, including three Pacific crossings her last being in the wake of Sir Francis Drake ,when she sailed to the beautiful British Virgin Islands, safely carrying her cargo and crew consisting of a young family. Here she remains carrying on in the tradition of the age of sail.
